The
Lindisfarm herd contains Aberdeen Angus, Galloway, Blue-Grey
and Highlanders. The Aberdeen Angus graze on the farm's lush pastures
while the more rugged Galloway, Blue-Grey and Highland cattle
enjoy the open fells where they are hardy enough to remain all
winter. The meat from these traditional breeds is slow-maturing
and has the marbling which is essential for tenderness.
Our prize-winning
Cumberland White Bull is used to produce Blue-Grey calves from
the Galloway heifers.
